Krzysztof Cetnarowicz was born in Krakow, Poland. He obtained an M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrotechnics, Automatics and Electronics of the AGH - University of Science and Technology in Cracow and also graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow in mathematics.
In 1977 he obtained a Ph. d. degree and in 1999 habilitation at the Faculty of Electrotechnics, Automatics and Electronics of the AGH - University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
He has been working at the Institute of Computer Science at the AGH – University of Science and Technology in Cracow for more than 30 years and in 2002 he attained the position of university professor there.
In 2000 he was a visiting professor at the Technical University of Belfort Montbeliard (France) for 3 years (contract PAST).
He is an author of more than 160 papers, patents and books in Computer Science (multi-agent systems, artificial intelligence, image processing, simulation, evolutionary programming).
He has been a member of the PCs of over 20 conferences, a reviewer of grants at the National Czech Agency of the Czech Republic, Polish KBN grants, and a member of the diploma examination board at the University of Ostrava VSB (Czech Republic) and a member of the Scientific Board of Institute of Computer Science on Polish Academy of Science (IPI PAN).
Krzysztof Cetnarowicz takes part in the realization research (responsibility of a project or a part of works) of several projects of the Polish Grant Agency KBN.
