Timeline: 2010-2015
Funded by: European Union, Innovative Economy Programme, European Fund for Regional Development
Goal: The goal of the project is designing and deploying of complex information system for detection, threat identification and monitoring of moving objects. The aims of the project are: developing of methods for automatic observation and registration of moving objects parameters, transmission and data archivization, driver identification, threat detection, traffic analysis and visualization.

Title: INDECT Intelligent information system supporting observation, searching and detection for security of citizens in urban environment
Head: prof. Andrzej Dziech, Ph.D., D.Sc.
Timeline: 2009-2014
Grant agreement: 218086
Funded by: European Union, 7th Framework Programme.
Goal: INDECT aims at developing tools for enhancing security of citizens and protecting confidentiality of recorded and stored information. INDECT targets crimes both in virtual (e.g. Internet child pornography, promotion of totalitarian symbols, trafficking in human organs, spread of botnets, viruses, malware) and real environments (e.g. terrorism, hooliganism, thievery). Furthermore, INDECT targets also threat detection (e.g. fire, artificial crowd, abandoned luggage, and people on rails). The main objectives of the INDECT project are: to develop a platform for: registration and exchange of operational data, acquisition of multimedia content, intelligent processing of information and automatic detection of threats and recognition of criminal behaviour or violence, to develop a prototype of an integrated, network-centric system supporting  operational activities of police officers, providing techniques and tools for observation of various mobile objects, to develop a new type of search engine combining direct search of images and video based on watermarked contents and  storage of metadata in the form of digital watermarks.
